Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why a residential treatment center just for women?
Women are expected to be loving and nurturing in all their roles: wives, mothers, sisters, friends. They are culturally conditioned to put the needs of others before their own. Often, a woman addicted to alcohol, “street” drugs or even prescription drugs carries a particularly painful burden of shame.

Research has shown that women often delay getting treatment until they are further along in their addiction, with more medical and psychological problems, than men who are addicted. At Casa de Palmas, women are in a supportive environment, where they can recognize and put to use their own internal resources for recovery.

How long will I be at Casa de Palmas and who decides how much treatment I will receive?
Ultimately you decide of course. Our staff has experience from which to make recommendations as does your physician. Casa de Palmas is well prepared to help you with your journey to enhance health and well being for the first months.

Will my insurance pay for my stay at Casa de Palmas?
Insurance coverage varies widely from one plan to another. We are happy to work with you and your insurance provider on payment options.
